In this 14 minute video Dance photographer Lois Greenfield has a beautiful presentation of her portfolio and techniques used to shoot what are basically dancers in motion (jumping, falling) capturing their unique expressions and postures from different angles. Her vision is truly inspiring and unique and worth admiring.
No faked poses nor fancy special effects just plain old life in motion made possible by professional dancers. “The dancer could illustrate the passage of time and that really intrigued me” Lois says.
“I got very frustrated because I was documenting someone else’s work” so the beautiful thing is that we get to see how Lois developed her style over the years from basically interesting snapshots of dancers in motion to her own unique art of capturing the most poetic dance photography.
