I know a lot of us that have a blog are interested in SEO optimization and how to improve out blogs. I’m not a specialist in SEO but a word keeps popping up in this field, it’s Cybersquatting.
Cybersquatting (also known as domain squatting), according to the United States federal law known as the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, is registering, trafficking in, or using a domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else. The cybersquatter then offers to sell the domain to the person or company who owns a trademark contained within the name at an inflated price.
Hope this helps in taking the right actions and precautions when you’re out there blogging!

That sounds like a crafty way to make some nice cash. I've heard of people doing something similar in real life, registering company names in countries then selling it back when they want to spread into there.

I've never been a fan of the domain squatting websites. I wonder how much money they make? Do people actually click things on those pages?

When I first read cybersquatting I imagined some sort of online exercise program… It sucks that people would do this, but then again a lot of people will do anything for money (and big companies have enough money for these little things)

I've heard of stories like this. Pretty bad for small businesses I'd say. If you've got a good idea for a name for your own personal business, don't wait to grab it up, or someone else will beat you to it.

Hmm it sounds like another law to benefit big business, although i can easily see a large corporation doing this. During the www's beginning this was done and made some people a lot of money.
